A Taiwan drying equipment maker since 1976 #
WEISUN INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD. began in 1976 as an OEM manufacturer for domestic drying equipment companies. Over five decades it moved from contract manufacturing to an own brand, added semiconductor and electronics process capabilities, and built a product line that now covers clean room, inert gas, pressure, high-temperature, conveyor, environmental testing, and automation equipment.
Founding and OEM era #
The official history traces the company’s origin to Mr. Chi-Jei Chen, who became an oven apprentice after graduating from elementary school. In 1976, he and his brother set up a factory in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, under the name “Hesheng Instruments”.
The factory mainly produced equipment for well-known domestic drying equipment manufacturers, including hot-air circulating ovens, UV drying equipment, high-temperature/low-temperature chambers, and conveyor drying equipment.
Building the WEISUN brand #
In 1982 the factory moved from Zhonghe to Xinzhuang and was renamed “WEISUN INSTRUMENTS CO., LTD.” In 1988 the company collaborated with domestic drying equipment manufacturers to develop Taiwan’s first oven designed exclusively for clean rooms.
The WEISUN patent and trademark were approved in Taiwan in 2009, and the first own-brand oven was launched. In 2010, WEISUN established an R&D and Design Section to meet semiconductor and electronics drying requirements and developed clean oxidation-free drying equipment.
Transition to own-brand manufacturing #
After the 2008 financial turmoil, major factories moved westward. WEISUN decided to transform for sustainable operation and build its own brand, with customisation as the core positioning. The company’s official history states that OEM work was gradually reduced to 5% and that it became a 100% Taiwan-made OBM manufacturer.
The brand identity uses the shape of an electric heating tube, a key component of drying equipment, as its main emblem. The “W” in WEISUN also reads as an “S” when flipped, representing the company’s emphasis on service and flexible customisation.

- 2014 — Exhibited at Flat Panel Display, TPCA, SEMICON Taiwan, and Touch Taiwan; formally pursued the own-brand path; introduced semi-automatic clean oxidation-free ovens with communication and PC/PLC control; entered the semiconductor supply chain.
- 2015 — High-power UV-LED development and high-temperature dust-free oven structure patent.
- 2016 — Implemented ERP; received Ministry of Economic Affairs SBIR innovation R&D subsidy; developed 530°C high-temperature clean oxidation-free ovens.
- 2017 — Exhibited at SEMICON China; signed agents in Mainland China and Southeast Asia; entered the PCB supply chain.
- 2018 — Capital increase approved and company renamed “WEISUN INSTRUMENT INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.”; new Baiji factory in Sanxia established; ISO 9001 certified; received New Taipei City local SBIR subsidy; won New Taipei Industrial Association Innovation Research Award and Corporate Sustainable Development Award.
- 2019 — Won the 16th National Brand Yushan Award, the 15th Golden Torch Award for Top 10 Outstanding Enterprises, and the 15th Golden Torch Award for Annual Innovative Design.
- 2020 — Won the 20th Golden Peak Award; exhibited at Automation Taipei; obtained patents for improved door-handle and bearing-seat structures.
- 2021 — Won the 2021 Taiwan Golden Jade Award, the 18th Yushan Award for Best Corporate Leader and Best Product, and the New Taipei City Industrial Association Innovation and R&D Award; certified as a Sports Enterprise; patent for an oven automatic switch mechanism.
- 2022 — Won the First New Taipei Outstanding Business Award and the 29th SME Innovation Research Award; dust-free and oxidation-free oven obtained CE certification; recognised under the Industrial Bureau’s smart drying system programme; renamed “WEISUN Industrial Co., Ltd.”
- 2023 — Obtained TTQS Bronze Medal; implemented PLM and CRM; established “WEISUNOVO Co., Ltd.” in China; expanded overseas markets through the New Southbound programme; obtained three patents for conveyor oven, gate structure, and preheating machine structure.
- 2024 — Won the 32nd Taiwan Excellence Award for the Top-Down Airflow Auto Oven, the 18th Golden Torch Award for Top 10 Products of the Year, the 2nd New Taipei City Enterprise Classic Award, and the 2024 Innovation and R&D Award; certified as a Sports Enterprise; obtained five patents; awarded SEMI E187 verification.
- 2025 — Awarded ISO 27001 certification; patent for an energy-saving system to shorten oven heating time.
- 2026 — Established the Kaohsiung Office.
